Amy Winehouse & Mitch Winehouse
Amy Winehouse earned five Grammys in 2008 for her album "Back to Black."
Amy's dad, Mitch Winehouse, released his first album, "Rush of Love," in 2011.

Late singer Amy Winehouse, who won five Grammys for her album Back to Black, died tragically in July 2011, at the age of 27, from accidental alcohol poisoning. Earlier that year, her father Mitch Winehouse made his musical debut by releasing a jazz album called Rush of Love. Mitch jokingly told London newspaper The Telegraph, "Well, it was my name before Amy's. You could say she's been exploiting my name, I'm just catching up." He went on to say, "Look, I've said it myself a hundred times, if I wasn't Amy's dad, I wouldn't get to make an album. The world isn't short of singers. But who wouldn't do this, given the opportunity? I love to sing, and I think we've made a nice album." Mitch claims he was first inspired to record an album by Amy, when he sang with her at a gig early in her aspiring career.

On June 26. 2012, Mitch released a book, Amy, My Daughter, in which he reminisced about both fond and difficult memories from her short life.
