Richard Starkey, better known as Ringo Starr, is the father of Zak Starkey, drummer for The Who and Oasis.  Ringo tried to steer his oldest son toward careers that involved something more than hitting things with sticks, but to no avail.  Perhaps this was because Zak's godfather was The Who's original drummer Keith Moon, who gave Zak his first drum kit and some lessons.  Zak and his dad can be seen playing drums in the video of the 1985 anti-Apartheid anthem "Sun City," and Zak later played in his dad's All-Starr Band.  He began playing with The Who in 1994, and he was also the drummer for Oasis from 2004 to 2008.  Members of both bands have stated publicly that Zak was invited to join their groups as their permanent drummer, but that he declined to do so.  On February 7, 2010, he backed The Who in the Superbowl halftime show in Miami, along with Pete Townshend's son Simon Townshend on rhythm guitar.
