Joseph Simmons (known as "Rev Run"), a founding member of hip-hop/rap group Run DMC, is brother to Def Jam Records co-founder and Phat Farm clothing founder Russell Simmons. Run and his family star on the MTV reality show Run’s House. Run’s son JoJo Simmons is a member of the rap group Team Blackout. His daughter Angela Simmons is Executive Editor of Word Up! Magazine’s offshoot publication Angela’s Rundown and an aspiring singer. Angela also co-founded Pastry, a footwear line under Phat Farm, with her sister Vanessa Simmons, an aspiring actress and model. Russell’s ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons is a former model and current CEO of Phat Fashions. Kimora and the couple’s two young daughters star on the reality show Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane.
Beginning in January 2009, Vanessa and Angela starred in their own MTV reality TV series, Daddy's Girls. The show chronicles the girls' official move to Los Angeles, attempting to be independent and make a name for themselves across the country from their close-knit family.
