Christopher Buckley is a best-selling political satirist with 14 published titles, including Thank You For Smoking, which was made into a 2006 film. He is the son of William F. Buckley, Jr., a conservative author and founder of the political magazine National Review. Christopher wrote the back-page column of the magazine during a stint in 2008, however, that ended when he announced his endorsement of Barack Obama for the U.S. Presidency. Christopher titled his endorsement "Sorry, Dad, I'm Voting for Obama," which ran in The Daily Beast. William F. Buckley, Sr., was a wealthy Texan lawyer and oil baron who became influential in Mexican politics in the early 1900s. The elder Buckley also founded the American Association of Mexico in 1919. James L. Buckley, another of the elder William's children, served as a U.S. Senator for New York from 1971-1977.
