As most people know, Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted, Alexander, Changeling, Wanted, Salt) is the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight (Midnight Cowboy). Angelina made her film debut in 1982's indie flick Lookin' to Get Out, which was co-written by and starred her father. Angelina was billed in the credits as Angelina Jolie Voight. Angelina and Jon played father and daughter in the 2001 action flick Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
Not as many people know that her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was also an actress, appearing in films such as The Man Who Loved Women and Lookin' To Get Out.
And even fewer people know that Jon Voight's brother, Chip Taylor, is the songwriter behind such sixties hits as "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning." Chip's real name is James Wesley Voight. In 2009, Chip penned an autobiography, "Songs From a Dutch Tour," chronicling his career.
Angelina's brother, James Haven (who caused consternation when he and Angelina kissed each other on the mouth at the 2000 Oscars), is also an aspiring actor. He directed several student films at the USC School of Cinema in which his sister appeared.
Angelina has a habit of marrying her co-stars. Her first marriage was to Hackers co-star Jonny Lee Miller (TV's Eli Stone). When that marriage ended in divorce in 2000, she quickly married her Pushing Tin co-star Billy Bob Thornton, a marriage that lasted two years.
In 2005 she hooked up with her Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, superstar Brad Pitt, who subsequently divorced Jennifer Aniston to be with Jolie. Brad and Angelina's first biological child together, daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, played Brad's character's infant daughter in 2008's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Another daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, plays the younger version of title character Maleficent's nemesis, Princess Aurora, in the 2014 Disney remake of the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. Angelina stars as the wicked queen.
