Jennifer Jason Leigh, who lept to stardom at the tender age of 20 as the female lead in 1982's Fast Times at Ridgemont High, is the daughter of actor Vic Morrow, star of movies and television from the 1950s through the 1970s. He was tragically killed during the filming of Twilight Zone: The Movie in 1983. Her mother is actor/writer Barbara Turner, who wrote the screenplay for 2000's Pollock, starring Ed Harris as the famous painter. With such well-placed parents, Jennifer was able to make her first appearance at the age of nine (in the 1973 film Death of a Stranger) and received her membership in the Screen Actors guild at the age of 16. She has since attained critical acclaim and is a Golden Globe-nominated for her role in Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994). She is also a two-time NYFCC Award-winning American actress for her roles in Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989) and Miami Blues. She won "Best Actress" from the New York Film Critics Circle and the Montreal World Film Festival for her portrayal of "Sadie Flood" in the movie Georgia (1995).
