Actress Mary Stuart Masterson (Some Kind of Wonderful, Benny & Joon, Fried Green Tomatoes) is the daughter of actor/writer/director Peter Masterson (1982 Tony award-winning Broadway adaptation of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas) and character actress Carlin Glynn ("Brenda Baker" in Sixteen Candles). Mary's career began at the age of 10, when she appeared in 1975's The Stepford Wives with her father. She also appeared with her father and mother in 1987's Gardens of Stone. Mary is the sister of character actress Alexandra Masterson and actor/cinematographer Peter Masterson II. The younger Peter worked as a cameraman on two of Mary's projects; Bed of Roses and a 1996 episode of Hallmark Hall of Fame, titled Lily Dale. He also worked as the co-producer of 2002's West of Here, in which Mary and their mother starred. The elder Peter's 1985 film, Trip to Bountiful, featured his wife Carlin and daughter Alexandra. The same goes for the 1989 film Blood Red. Mary, Carlin, and Peter II worked together on 2005's Whiskey School, which was directed by the elder Peter as well. For 2007's The Cake Eaters, the younger Peter worked as a cinematographer, while Mary starred in and produced the film. Peter II and Mary worked as producers on 2009's Tickling Leo.
