Academy Award-nominated actress Amy Irving ("Sue Snell" in Carrie, Crossing Delancey, Yentl, Traffic, "Emily Sloane" on Alias) is the daughter of actress Priscilla Pointer (Blue Velvet, "Rebecca Barnes Wentworth" on Dallas) and TV/theatre director/producer Jules Irving. Priscilla played Amy's mother in Carrie, 1980's Honeysuckle Rose, and Carried Away (1996). Mother and daughter also appeared together in The Competition (1980), Micki & Maude (1984), Rumpelstiltskin (1987), and A Show of Force (1990). Amy's brother is director David Irving. David directed his mother in C.H.U.D. II-Bud the Chud (1989), and both his mother and sister in Rumpelstiltskin. Amy and David's half-sister, Katie Irving, performed two songs ("Born to Have It All," "I Never Dreamed Someone Like You Could Love Someone Like Me") on the Carrie soundtrack. David, Katie, and Amy's uncle is director/producer Richard Irving (TV series The Six Million Dollar Man, State Trooper, Mike Hammer, Soldier of Fortune). Amy's son with her now ex-husband Steven Spielberg, Max Spielberg, was an assistant to his mother on the set of The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999), and appeared in his father's film Catch Me If You Can (2002).
