Actress Melanie Griffith (Working Girl) is the daughter of actress Tippi Hedren, iconic star of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. (While Tippi has managed to stay out of the glare of the paparazzi, she has more than 80 TV and movie screen credits and was still active as of 2012.)  Melanie’s father was Peter Griffith, who appeared on Broadway several times as a child actor, and who is best known for playing the foster father of Jamie Lee Curtis’s character in the opening scene of 1978’s Halloween.  Melanie was first married to actor Don Johnson (Miami Vice) and is now married to actor Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro, Shrek). Melanie met Don on the set of 1973’s The Harrad Experiment, in which he co-starred with her mother Tippi. Their daughter, Dakota Johnson, is also an actress (2010’s The Social Network, 2011’s Beastly). Dakota and Melanie have both served as “Miss Golden Globe," an awards show hostess title typically given to the daughter of a celebrity. Melanie held the title in 1975, and Dakota in 2006. Both Dakota and Melanie’s daughter with Antonio, Stella Banderas, appeared with their mother in Crazy in Alabama, which Antonio happened to direct. Additionally, Melanie's half-sister, actress Tracy Griffith, was a stand-in on the film. Tracy also had a small role in Melanie's 1984 film Fear City. Tracy's brother (Melanie's half-brother), Clay A. Griffith, is a set decorator, art director, and production designer who has worked on such films as Dirty DancingSleepless in SeattleJerry Macguire, and As Good As It Gets. Tracy and Clay’s mother is Nanita Greene Samuels, a onetime model and food stylist for 1989’s Rosalie Goes Shopping.
