Murray Head (full name Murray Seafield Saint-George Head) is a British actor/singer/songwriter best known for the international hit songs "Superstar" (from the 1970 rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar) and 1984's "One Night in Bangkok" (from the musical Chess). He starred in both musicals. He appeared in the 1971 movie Sunday Bloody Sunday and has had numerous appearances on British television, in addition to releasing more than a dozen albums.

Murray's father, Seafield Lawrence Stewart Murray Head, was a documentary filmmaker and a founder of Verity Films. Murray's first appearances were in his father's documentaries, starting at the age of seven.

His mother, Helen Shingler, is a British television actress who played "Mme. Maigret" in the BBC's television adaptation of the Maigret novels written by George Simenon.

His younger brother, Anthony Head, played "Rupert Giles" in the Buffy, the Vampire Slayer series and was in Merlin as "Uther Pendragon."
