Academy Award-nominated actor James Caan (The Godfather, Brian's Song, Misery, Mickey Blue Eyes, Elf, TV's Las Vegas) is the father of actor Scott Caan (1999's Varsity Blues, 2000's Boiler Room, the Ocean's Eleven films). In the 2010 reboot of Hawaii Five-O, Scott co-stars as "Danno," as in "Book 'em, Danno."
James and Scott appeared together in 1995's A Boy Called Hate and 2009's Mercy.
Scott's mother, Sheila Ryan, is an actress whose credits include an episode of T.J. Hooker (1983), The Man Who Loved Women (1983), Open House (1987), and Shelter from the Storm (1994).
James's brother, Ronnie Caan, produced 1978's Comes a Horseman and 1981's Thief, both of which starred James. Ronnie was also a crewmember with various job titles for his brother's films Cinderella Liberty (1973), The Gambler (1974), and Harry and Walter Go to New York (1976).
James and Ronnie's older sister Barbara Caan Licker was James's assistant on the set of 1981's Thief, where she was billed as Barbara Licker-Caan. She died that same year of leukemia.
