Oscar-nominated writer/director/producer Jason Reitman (2005's Thank You for Smoking, 2007's Juno,
2011's Young Adult) is the son of Oscar-nominated writer/director/producer
Ivan Reitman and actress/director Genevieve Robert (1970's Red the
Half Breed, 1974's Lovers of Devil's Island). Genevieve appeared in
the 1993 film Dave, which Ivan directed. Ivan's long list of famous
films includes Ghostbusters (1984), Kindergarten Cop (1990), Beethoven (1992), Space Jam (1996), Private Parts (1997) and Old
Jason got his start working as a production assistant and appearing in
small roles in a number of his father's films, beginning with 1988's Twins.
Father and son teamed up on the 2009 film Up in the Air, which Ivan
produced and Jason directed.
Jason's daughter with ex-wife Michele
Lee, Josephine Reitman, was an
extra in her father's film Juno. Jason and Michele co-wrote the 2004
short film Consent. In 2002, Michele starred in Jason's short film Uncle
Sam, and also had a small part in her then-husband's film Up in the Air.
Jason's sister Catherine Reitman (2009's Post Grad, 2010's How to Make Love to a Woman) has had
parts in her father's films Dave, Twins, Ghostbusters II, Kindergarten Cop, Beethoven's 2nd, Space Jam, and Fathers' Day (1997). She has also appeared in her brother's films Thank You for Smoking, My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), and I Love You, Man (2009).
Jason's sister Caroline Reitman had a part in her father's film Fathers' Day.
